Katina first began Pilates at the age of 16 when her physiotherapist advised her to start due to chronic lower back complaints. Having seen osteopaths, physiotherapist, massage therapist and chiropractors, she found that Pilates was the one thing that controlled her pain. She also found that being a dancer and tennis player Pilates was a great way to improve her strength and flexibility, as well as decrease injury rates and the severity of the injury.

Having just completed her Certificate IV in Pilates (Mat) she has decided to go on and complete her Diploma in rehabilitation Pilates. In addition Katina has a degree in Exercise and Sport Science and is also currently in her last year of her Masters in Exercise Physiology.
In the future Katina hope to be able to incorporate Pilates into her rehabilitation and strengthening programs with elite tennis players and athletes. She also hopes to continue dance teaching, focusing on the rehabilitation and strengthening, as well as body awareness courses.
